Charter schools may request that their district school district provide student transportation at fair cost on the same basis as other district schools.

Charter schools may alternatively receive a state payment equal to 70% of the average per-student transportation cost in their vocational district and assume responsibility for their own student transportation.

School districts may deny a charter school's request for transportation services.

If a school district denies a charter school's transportation request, the charter school automatically receives the 70% state payment and becomes responsible for providing its own transportation.
