Proclaims April 5, 2023, as DEMEC Day to honor the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation's 44th anniversary and over 100 years of reliable electric service from Delaware's community-owned public power utilities.

Recognizes eight Delaware municipalities (New Castle, Newark, Middletown, Smyrna, Clayton, Milford, Seaford, and Lewes) operating community-owned electric utilities in partnership with DEMEC.

Acknowledges DEMEC's renewable energy investments, including 28.7 megawatts of in-state solar generation and renewable energy credits from a 69 MW wind farm and 2 MW University of Delaware wind turbine.

Highlights DEMEC's Energy Efficiency Program, which has delivered projects expected to save customers $18.4 million and 160,870 MWh over their lifetime, equivalent to one year of electricity for 22,183 homes.

Notes DEMEC has reduced its carbon footprint by over 50% since 2005, with member communities receiving energy that is over 90% low to no emissions.
