Designates March 27, 2024, as "DEMEC Day" in Delaware to recognize the Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation and community-owned electric utilities.

DEMEC was incorporated in 1979 as a not-for-profit joint action agency serving eight Delaware municipalities: New Castle, Newark, Middletown, Smyrna, Clayton, Milford, Seaford, and Lewes.

Recognizes DEMEC's renewable energy achievements including 28.7 megawatts of in-state solar generation, wind energy partnerships, and a 50% reduction in carbon footprint since 2005.

Celebrates DEMEC's 45th anniversary and the member utilities' combined over 100 years of reliable electric service to residential, business, and emergency service customers.

Honors DEMEC and member utilities for energy savings programs, local customer service, economic development initiatives, and providing 92.5% low to no emissions power supply.
