Myasthenia gravis is a neuromuscular disorder causing muscle weakness and fatigue, affecting an estimated 36,000 to 60,000 people in the United States.

The condition results from an abnormal immune reaction that attacks muscle receptors, causing symptoms including eyelid drooping, double vision, facial weakness, swallowing difficulties, and limb weakness.

Severe cases can lead to myasthenic crisis, characterized by respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation.

The Muscle Movement Foundation advocates for people with myasthenia gravis and other neuromuscular diseases, using the motto "MG can't stop me" and the color teal as awareness symbols.
