Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore carries Interstate 695 across the Patapsco River and is the second longest continuous truss bridge in the United States at 1.6 miles.

On March 26, 2024, the container ship Dali struck a support pillar causing the bridge's center span to collapse while vehicles and construction crews were on the span.

Rescuers recovered two individuals from the water following the collapse, with additional individuals unaccounted for at the time of resolution passage.

Delaware extends its thoughts and prayers to Maryland, the victims' families, and first responders engaged in search and recovery operations.
