Recognizes Hawks, Inc., a Wilmington-based community organization founded in the 1960s, for their volunteer efforts in cleaning up and assisting families after the 11th Street Bridge flooding caused by Hurricane Ida in September 2021.

Hawks, Inc. is a brotherhood organization dedicated to volunteering, mentoring, and empowering citizens of Northeast Wilmington through education and coaching services.

The organization's members are committed to respecting their community and developing partnerships with other community organizations to create safe spaces for Delaware residents.

William "Hicks" Anderson, a Kingswood Community Center director in the late 1960s, helped transform Hawks from a potential gang into a service-oriented club by instilling values of self-respect, dignity, and manhood.
