Commercial composting of yard waste, food residuals, and other organic materials is permitted on agriculturally-zoned properties throughout Delaware

County and local governments may restrict the square footage used for composting operations but must allow a minimum of 5,000 square feet per 4 acres of property

The Department of Agriculture is granted authority to create regulations governing commercial composting operations on agricultural land

The bill adds a new Section 108 to Title 3 of the Delaware Code specifically addressing composting activities
