School board members must be allowed to attend regular or special meetings electronically when unable to attend in person due to personal illness, caring for a sick family member, public health emergencies, pregnancy or post-partum care, or military deployment

Members attending remotely under these qualifying circumstances count toward quorum and may vote as if physically present

Electronic attendance methods must allow all participating members and witnesses to simultaneously hear each other's comments

The Department of Education must notify school board presidents and district superintendents of these new requirements upon enactment

The law takes effect 30 days after enactment
