Designates June 17, 2025, as Youth Prevention Day in Delaware to raise awareness about substance abuse and mental health prevention among young people

Thirty high school students from all three Delaware counties participated in a forum on June 17, 2025, with the Lt. Governor and Behavioral Health Consortium members to discuss substance abuse and mental health solutions

Cites national statistics showing 61.2 million Americans ages 12 and older used illicit drugs in 2021, and 11.2% of overdose deaths occur among those aged 15-24

Notes that in Delaware, 6.22% of youth ages 12-17 met criteria for illicit drug use disorder and 13.6% of high school students reported using e-cigarettes

Encourages state agencies and community organizations to spread awareness, share evidence-based prevention resources, and engage youth in age-appropriate supports
