Municipalities may prohibit marijuana establishments entirely through ordinance or referendum, and may regulate the time, place, manner, and number of marijuana operations within their jurisdiction

Counties may regulate but not completely prohibit marijuana establishments; retail stores must be allowed to operate Monday-Saturday 9am-9pm and Sunday noon-8pm at minimum

Retail marijuana stores cannot be located within ½ mile of another retail store or within 500 feet of schools, higher education institutions, licensed child care facilities, residential treatment facilities, parks, or libraries

Indoor marijuana cultivation facilities cannot be prohibited in areas zoned for agricultural or industrial use; retail stores cannot be prohibited in commercial or industrial zones except for the specified distance restrictions

Existing marijuana establishments and compassion centers converting to retail stores may continue operating as nonconforming uses if zoning changes or new restricted entities are established nearby
