Teachers and specialists with at least 4 years of full-time experience as Title 1 or instructional paraprofessionals in public schools receive 1 year of salary schedule experience credit for every 2 years of paraprofessional service

Removes the restriction that limited this salary credit provision to teachers hired after August 9, 2023, making it applicable to all eligible teachers

Clarifies that paraprofessionals must have held a "valid paraprofessional permit" rather than simply having been "issued a permit" by the Department of Education or equivalent out-of-state agency

Experience credit for paraprofessional service begins upon completion and approval of an application to the employer, rather than automatically
