Expands parental excusal from jury service to include mothers who are breastfeeding a child under 2 years of age, in addition to expectant mothers and non-full-time employed parents with custody of children under 6 years old.

Adds practicing psychologists to the list of professionals a presiding judge may discretionarily excuse from jury service, alongside practicing attorneys and physicians.

Maintains existing protections for deaf or hearing impaired individuals, prohibiting automatic excusal from civil trial juries unless the judge finds auditory discrimination is necessary or the trial will be substantially delayed.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
