Federal write-in absentee ballots are now accepted as voter registration applications if they contain required constitutional and statutory information.

Absentee ballots cast by overseas voters must be counted if received within 10 days after the election, postmarked or signed and dated no later than election day, and are legal.

Overseas voters may use the federal write-in absentee ballot in any federal, state, or local election for which they are entitled to vote.

The deadline for counties to submit primary election returns to the Department of State is extended from the 7th day to the 11th day following the election.

Instructions to absent electors are revised to reflect the 10-day receipt window for overseas voter ballots.
