Amends section 112.1815, Florida Statutes to add subsection (5) regarding attorney's fees in workers' compensation cases for first responders (firefighters, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and law enforcement officers).

Frees the finder of fact and law from being bound by statutory provisions regarding attorney's fees relating to indemnity or medical benefits for employment-related accidents or injuries in first responder cases.

Requires the finder of fact and law to consider six specific factors when awarding attorney's fees: time and labor required, customary fees in the locality, amount involved and benefits payable, time limitations imposed, attorney experience and reputation, and whether the fee is contingent or certain.

Establishes a legislative finding that the act serves an important state interest in ensuring prompt and adequate response to protect public safety unique to first responders.

Effective upon becoming law.
