Requires female inmates with minor children to be assigned to correctional facilities located as close as possible to where their children reside, whenever feasible

Requires the department to consider proximity to minor children when transferring female prisoners between institutions, alongside security and medical factors

Provides an exception to proximity requirements when a court has restricted the inmate's contact with her child; effective date July 1, 2010
