Requires persons claiming adverse possession to send a certified mail copy of their property return to the owner of record within the filing deadline.

Mandates the person claiming adverse possession submit proof of mailing to the property appraiser within 15 business days after filing the return.

Directs the property appraiser to cancel the return and remove the person from the tax roll if proof of mailing is not received within 15 business days.

Exempts the mailing requirement when an owner of record cannot be ascertained in the property appraiser's records or located by reasonable means.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
