HB 1419 Summary

• Amends the definition of "electric personal assistive mobility device" in Florida's traffic control law (s. 316.003, F.S.)

• Removes the requirement that such devices must be "two-nontandem-wheeled," allowing devices with different wheel configurations to qualify

• Modifies the power specification from exactly 750 watts to "up to 750 watts (1 horsepower)"

• Maintains existing requirements that devices be self-balancing, single-person transport with maximum speed under 20 mph on level pavement when operated by a 170-pound rider

• Effective upon becoming law
