Century Commission for a Sustainable Florida shall contract with SRI International to study alternative energy policy options and develop a renewable energy and economic development investment plan.

SRI International must review alternative energy policy literature, examine policies from other states with best practices, evaluate successful approaches, and conduct interviews with stakeholders.

Final report due to the Governor, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House by January 15, 2011.

Report must include summaries of stakeholder interviews, analysis of other states' and Florida's alternative energy policies, description of an alternative energy plan structure, and recommendations for implementation.

Recommendations should address whether incentive programs or regulatory requirements should be implemented and how efforts can integrate with existing alternative energy research at Florida universities.
