CS/HB 7083 - Child Support Enforcement

• Removes requirement to reduce retroactive child support by 25 percent when obligor and Department of Revenue agree to a support order.

• Authorizes Department of Revenue to collect noncovered medical expenses in installments through income deduction notices.

• Establishes procedures for child support order reviews and modifications by the department, including filing petitions in circuit court with proposed modified orders and allowing parties to request hearings.

• Permits individuals ordered to appear for genetic testing to contest the order by filing a written request for informal review within 15 days of service, with further rights to administrative hearing.

• Updates birth certificate procedures to allow amendments when parents marry after a child's birth or when a dissolution of marriage judgment requires the former husband to pay child support.

• Requires marriage license applications to allow both parties to identify any children born in the state that they have in common and transmit identified children's names to the Department of Health.
