Authorizes the City of Lakeland to pay Reginald Jackson $312,500 as compensation for injuries sustained when Officer Mike Cochran of the Lakeland Police Department shot him on October 18, 2001

Jackson was shot in the neck after being stopped for an invalid license tag and subsequently ordered arrested; he was unarmed and seated next to an 18-month-old child at the time of the shooting

A jury previously awarded Jackson $412,500 in damages, but he collected only $100,000 due to statutory limits under Florida law; this bill provides the remaining $312,500

Limits attorney's fees, lobbying fees, costs, and other similar expenses to a maximum of 25 percent of the amount awarded under this act
