Requires high school students to complete a mandatory one-half credit in health education as a standalone requirement, separate from physical education

Removes the current integration of health education within the physical education credit requirement

Allows students to waive the health education credit requirement by requesting to take and passing a Department of Education-developed health education assessment with a grade of "C" or better

Increases core curriculum credits from 16 to 16.5 credits and reduces elective credits from 4 to 3.5 credits to accommodate the new health education requirement

Effective date of July 1, 2010
