Extends the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) participation period from 60 months to up to 96 months (60 months plus an additional 36 months) for law enforcement officers, correctional officers, and community-based correctional probation officers with a rank of captain or below.

Prohibits retirees who participate in the extended 36-month DROP period from being reemployed, recontracted, or retained by the same employer after concluding DROP participation, except as part-time or auxiliary officers serving voluntarily for no more than $1 per calendar year.

Voids retirement benefits and creates joint and several liability for reimbursement to the retirement trust fund if a retiree violates the reemployment restriction, with the employer also held liable for violations.

Exempts elected officials appointed or elected by the Governor or Governor and Cabinet from the reemployment restrictions.

Declares the state's interest in retaining experienced law enforcement and correctional officers to protect public safety and requires retirement benefit funding to remain actuarially sound under the Florida Constitution and state law.
