Creates section 558.0035, F.S. limiting tort liability for design professionals (engineers, surveyors, architects, interior designers, landscape architects) to prevent recovery of economic damages resulting from construction defects.

Prohibits contracts from limiting design professional liability inconsistent with professional liability insurance requirements when insurance is mandated by the contract.

Exempts the liability limitation from applying to claims involving personal injury, property damage other than the contract subject matter, or when the contracting party fails to maintain required insurance coverage.

Amends sections 471.023, 472.021, 481.219, and 481.319, F.S. to cross-reference the new liability limitations for engineers, surveyors, architects, interior designers, and landscape architects.

Takes effect July 1, 2010 and does not apply to contracts entered into or services performed before that date.
