CS for SB 2020 - Information Technology

• Establishes statewide e-mail service with phased migration of all state agencies by June 30, 2015, with specific agency implementation dates in four phases starting June 30, 2012

• Requires primary data centers to provide transparent financial statements by July 30 and December 1 annually, plus submit cost-reduction proposals and organizational plans to their boards of trustees

• Expands Agency for Enterprise Information Technology duties to develop IT standards, coordinate consolidated procurement of IT products and services, and provide annual recommendations to the Legislature on achieving savings through consolidated purchases

• Requires state agency customers of primary data centers to notify centers of significant changes in service utilization by May 31 and November 30 each year

• Mandates all state primary data center customers (except universities) to use SUNCOM Network telecommunications services effective October 1, 2010, with department authority to grant exemptions for unmet requirements
