Amends Florida Statutes to define "hospice program" as a program offering a continuum of palliative and supportive care for terminally ill persons and their families.

Defines "life-limiting illness" as a progressive, debilitating, late-stage disease or condition that is not curable but may be effectively managed through palliative care.

Authorizes licensed hospices to provide palliative care to persons with life-limiting illnesses who are not admitted to a hospice program, including services to the person's family.

Clarifies that the act does not prohibit other authorized health care providers or facilities from providing palliative care and does not mandate or prescribe additional Medicaid coverage.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
