Prohibits public employees from being restricted by any person or agency from reporting immigration status information to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, maintaining such information, or exchanging it with other governmental entities.

Prevents county governments from enacting ordinances or policies that limit or prohibit law enforcement officers, local officials, or employees from communicating or cooperating with federal officials regarding immigration status.

Prevents municipal governments from enacting ordinances or policies that limit or prohibit law enforcement officers, local officials, or employees from communicating or cooperating with federal officials regarding immigration status.

Prohibits county and municipal governmental entities or officials from restricting the sending or receiving of citizenship or immigration status information to or from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Effective date: July 1, 2010.
