Florida Senate condemns any law, rule, or policy that punishes individuals based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV/AIDS status, including life imprisonment or death sentences

Resolution references Uganda's proposed legislation expanding penalties for homosexuality to include the death penalty and noting that Iran, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan currently impose capital punishment for homosexuality

Affirms that U.S. commitment to human rights and global HIV/AIDS combating efforts are undermined by laws that criminalize and stigmatize vulnerable communities

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to the President of the United States, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and the Ugandan Parliament
