Requires persons arrested for leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death to be held in custody until brought before a court for bail determination if they have prior convictions for related offenses (s. 316.027, s. 316.061, s. 316.191, s. 316.193) or felony violations of s. 322.34

Leaves existing penalties intact: willful violation of leaving a fatal crash scene remains a first-degree felony under s. 775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084

Maintains mandatory minimum 2-year prison sentence for willfully leaving a fatal crash scene while driving under the influence as defined in s. 316.193(1)
