• Creates the Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act to establish exclusive jurisdictional standards for Florida courts appointing guardians or issuing protective orders for adults.

• Establishes jurisdiction based on respondent's home state (6+ months physical presence) or significant connection to Florida when home state lacks jurisdiction or declines to exercise it.

• Grants courts special jurisdiction for emergency guardianships (up to 90 days) and protective orders for in-state property when general jurisdiction requirements are not met.

• Allows courts to communicate and cooperate with other states' courts, including requesting evidentiary hearings, testimony, evaluations, and document transfers.

• Permits transfer of existing guardianships and conservatorships between states through provisional orders and registration of out-of-state orders as foreign judgments in Florida.
