Authorizes the Palm Beach County School Board to pay $180,000 to Ashraf Kamel as personal representative of the estate of Jean A. Pierre Kamel, a 13-year-old student killed on January 27, 1997.

Authorizes the Palm Beach County School Board to pay $180,000 to Marguerite Dimitri, the deceased student's mother, for injuries and damages sustained due to the school board's negligence.

Compensates the parents for the wrongful death of their minor child, who was shot by another student at Conniston Middle School; a jury previously found the school board 80 percent liable and awarded $2 million in damages.

Limits attorney's fees, lobbying fees, costs, and similar expenses to a maximum of 25 percent of the total amounts awarded under the act.

The $360,000 in appropriations under this act, combined with the $200,000 previously paid by the school board under statutory limits, constitutes sole compensation for all claims arising from the student's death.
