Requires middle school students to complete one career and education planning course in 7th or 8th grade as a promotion requirement.

Mandates the course must include career exploration aligned to the National Career Clusters supported by Florida's Career Clusters Initiative.

Requires the course to include Florida CHOICES or comparable career exploration program and educational planning using the online FACTS.org system.

Requires students to develop a personalized academic and career plan covering high school graduation requirements, college entrance tests, scholarship programs, and college credit opportunities including Advanced Placement and dual enrollment.

Removes the Department of Education requirement to develop course frameworks and professional development materials for the career exploration and education planning course, effective July 1, 2011.
