Adds new subsection (8) to Florida Statute 817.60 creating the offense of unlawful possession of a stolen credit or debit card.

Prohibits knowingly possessing, receiving, or retaining custody of a stolen credit or debit card with intent to impede recovery by the cardholder, with penalties set forth in s. 817.67(2).

Exempts retailers and retail employees from violation if they possess a card without knowledge it was stolen or if they possess it to investigate the card's theft or unlawful use.

Takes effect October 1, 2011.
