Requires unemployed individuals claiming regular unemployment benefits to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per week with a nonprofit organization of their choosing.

Requires submission of a letter on nonprofit letterhead to the Agency for Workforce Innovation confirming completion of at least 4 hours of volunteer service for each week benefits are claimed.

Extends the same 4-hour weekly volunteer requirement to individuals claiming extended unemployment benefits after exhausting regular benefits.

Exempts individuals with disabilities as defined in sections 393.063(9) or 413.08(1)(b) from volunteer service requirements.

Effective date: July 1, 2011.
