City of Hollywood authorized to pay additional $100,000 to Ronald Miller for injuries from a July 30, 2002 vehicle collision involving a city utilities truck driven by city employee Robert Mettler.

Miller sustained knee injuries requiring corrective surgeries; jury awarded final judgment of $1,130,731.89 plus $17,257.82 in costs.

City previously paid $100,000 under statutory liability limits; this bill provides an additional $100,000 as negotiated settlement.

Combined payments from all sources ($100,000 statutory plus $100,000 from this act) constitute sole and final compensation for all claims arising from the incident.

Attorney's fees, lobbying fees, and related expenses cannot exceed 25 percent of the $100,000 amount awarded under this act.
