Extends forensic services eligibility to persons charged with misdemeanor offenses in addition to felony offenses throughout Florida's forensic mental health statutes.

Amends the definition of "defendant" in forensic services law to include individuals arraigned and charged with misdemeanor or felony offenses.

Requires the Department of Children and Family Services and Agency for Persons with Disabilities to establish forensic facilities capable of accommodating defendants found incompetent or acquitted by reason of insanity for both misdemeanor and felony charges.

Modifies commitment procedures for incompetent defendants with mental illness, mental retardation, or autism to apply equally to misdemeanor and felony cases.

Takes effect July 1, 2011.
