Court may not make equitable distribution of marital property to a party convicted of attempting or conspiring to murder the other party.

Person convicted of first or second degree murder, manslaughter, DUI manslaughter, BUI manslaughter, or aggravated assault is prohibited from receiving alimony if the crime resulted in death or serious injury to a family member and occurred after the marriage.

Person convicted of attempt or conspiracy to commit murder may not receive alimony from the intended victim of that attempt or conspiracy.

Parent who abused, abandoned, neglected, or sexually abused a minor child loses all rights to intestate succession and estate administration of that child's estate; the share distributes as if the parent predeceased the child.

Effective date is July 1, 2011.
