Expands who may file death and fetal death certificates to include physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners, in addition to physicians and funeral directors

Allows physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners to complete medical certification of cause of death upon written or oral authorization from a supervising physician with whom they have a signed protocol or supervisory relationship

Requires the supervising physician to sign and verify the death certification in writing within 24 hours after completion and place it in the decedent's medical records

Requires fetal death medical information to be provided to the funeral director within 72 hours after expulsion or extraction

Effective date July 1, 2011
