• First violation of operating without required security license is a first-degree misdemeanor; second or subsequent violations are third-degree felonies with civil penalties up to $10,000

• Unlicensed activity within 90 days after license expiration is exempt from penalties

• Impersonating a licensed security officer, private investigator, or recovery agent while forcing someone to assist is a third-degree felony; escalates to second-degree felony if done during another felony, and first-degree felony if the underlying felony causes death or serious bodily injury

• Licensed Class "G" security officers at critical infrastructure facilities may temporarily detain individuals suspected of crimes until law enforcement arrives, with authority to search for and seize weapons

• Class "D" and "MB" security officers must wear uniforms with visible patches or emblems identifying their employing agency
