HB 4029 Summary

• Repeals sections 339.401-339.421 of Florida Statutes, eliminating the Florida Transportation Corporation Act that authorized nonprofit corporations to act on behalf of the Department of Transportation.

• Removes provisions allowing nonprofit corporations to secure rights-of-way, assist in planning and design of transportation systems, and manage related corporate functions including incorporation, boards of directors, bylaws, and taxation exemptions.

• Repeals section 11.45(3)(m) of Florida Statutes to remove the Auditor General's authority to audit transportation corporations.

• Takes effect July 1, 2011.
