Amends section 948.16, Florida Statutes, to expand eligibility for misdemeanor pretrial substance abuse education and treatment intervention programs

Removes the restriction that previously barred individuals who had been admitted to any pretrial program from qualifying for the misdemeanor substance abuse program

Maintains existing requirement that participants must not have a prior felony conviction to be eligible

Preserves the state attorney's ability to block admission if evidence shows the defendant was involved in dealing or selling controlled substances

Effective date of July 1, 2011
