Expands the definition of "domestic violence" in Florida law to include inflicting or attempting to inflict physical injury against an animal owned by a family or household member, or placing a family member in fear of harm to such an animal.

Authorizes courts to issue injunctions granting a petitioner exclusive care, custody, or control of animals, and forbidding the respondent from taking, harming, or disposing of animals in the residence or household.

Makes it a first-degree misdemeanor to willfully violate a domestic violence injunction by knowingly and intentionally injuring or threatening to injure any animal owned by the petitioner, respondent, or a minor child.

Allows law enforcement officers to arrest without a warrant when there is probable cause to believe a person has committed an act of domestic violence under the amended statute.

Takes effect July 1, 2011.
