Disabled veterans with 100 percent service-connected disability ratings are exempt from all driver's license fees if they are honorably discharged and meet other qualifications.

Veterans with 50 to 99 percent service-connected disability ratings receive a 50 percent reduction in all driver's license fees if honorably discharged and otherwise qualified.

Qualifying veterans must provide either a valid identification card from the Department of Veterans' Affairs or an official letter from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs stating their disability percentage and a copy of their honorable discharge.

Qualifications include honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, valid disability rating from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and eligibility to obtain a driver's license under Florida law.

Effective date is July 1, 2011.
