School districts must collaborate with the Florida Kidcare program to provide application information to students at the beginning of each school year and modify school lunch and breakfast application forms to allow data sharing with state agencies and the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation unless parents opt out.

School districts may optionally share income and demographic data electronically with the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation to determine Kidcare program eligibility on a regular basis.

Interagency agreements must ensure that data exchanged is used only for Kidcare enrollment and is protected from unauthorized disclosure under federal law 42 U.S.C. s. 1758(b)(6).

The Florida Healthy Kids Corporation must include use of school lunch and breakfast application forms in its public awareness plan for the Kidcare program.

The bill takes effect July 1, 2011.
