Requires individuals to actively and earnestly seek work to be deemed available for unemployment benefits, with the Agency for Workforce Innovation notifying claimants of the number of work-search contacts required.

Mandates claimants report in person to an agency office at least once every 4 weeks to remain eligible for benefits.

Exempts claimants from the in-person reporting requirement if they are claiming partial or temporary total unemployment, have a definite recall date within 8 weeks, reside in a high-unemployment county more than 40 miles from an agency office, or belong to worker groups unlikely to benefit from in-person reporting.

Exempts claimants from in-person reporting when emergency conditions prevent access to agency offices serving their area.

Effective July 1, 2011.
