Creates the "Officer Andrew Widman Act" relating to violations of probation or community control

Authorizes a judge to issue a warrant for arrest of a probationer or offender who violates probation or community control terms after finding reasonable grounds that the violation involves committing a new violation of law

Requires courts at first appearance hearings to inform the arrested person of the violation and permits ordering the person before the original sentencing court if the violation is admitted

Allows courts to commit, release with or without bail, or order the person before the original sentencing court if the violation is not admitted, with consideration of likelihood of prison sanction notwithstanding standard pretrial release provisions

Takes effect October 1, 2011
