Defines "light-frame truss-type construction" as buildings with repetitive wood or steel framing members, including open-web steel joists with web members less than 2.5 inches wide and conventional lumber with web members less than 2 inches by 8 inches used in roof or floor structural elements.

Requires owners of commercial, industrial, or multiunit residential structures (3+ units) with light-frame truss-type construction to identify the structure with a sign or symbol approved by the State Fire Marshal to warn emergency responders.

Permits signs or symbols to be installed at principal entrances of locations with similarly designed structures, in clear view of arriving emergency apparatus.

Directs the State Fire Marshal to adopt rules specifying the dimensions, color, timeline for installation, and location of required signs or symbols.

Authorizes the State Fire Marshal and local fire officials to enforce compliance, with violations subject to penalties under Florida Statutes section 633.161; takes effect July 1, 2011.
