Creates Part VII of Chapter 497, Florida Statutes, establishing procedures for disposition of unclaimed human remains and transferring related provisions from Chapter 406.

Requires persons in possession of unclaimed remains to notify the anatomical board immediately, with exceptions for decomposed/mutilated remains, remains with contagious diseases, or when legally authorized persons object to anatomical use.

Mandates the anatomical board retain all human remains for at least 48 hours before use, allows legally authorized persons to claim remains after paying transportation and storage expenses, and permits county commissioners to establish ordinances for disposition of indigent persons' unclaimed remains.

Prohibits cremation, anatomical donation, burial at sea, or removal from the state of human remains whose identity is unknown, and establishes liability protections for licensed funeral directors and cremators following county commission directives.

Requires local government contracts for unclaimed remains disposition to comply with federal veterans burial regulations under 38 C.F.R. § 38.620 and eliminates the Department of Health's fee assessment authority for body burials.
