Repeals section 1008.33, F.S., which established the State Board of Education's authority to enforce accountability requirements, categorize schools based on student performance, and apply intervention strategies.

Removes references to section 1008.33 from multiple statutes governing school improvement, charter schools, instructional materials, and teacher assignments.

Eliminates a waiver provision that allowed the Commissioner of Education to waive instructional materials purchase requirements for schools in the lowest performance categories during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Removes the requirement that school districts cannot assign a higher percentage of temporarily certified, underperforming, or out-of-field teachers to lowest-performing schools than the district average, and eliminates annual certification and enforcement mechanisms for this requirement.

Effective July 1, 2011.
