Amends Florida Statutes section 944.803 to remove the requirement that at least 80 percent of inmates in faith-based prison programs must be within 36 months of release.

Maintains that assignment to faith-based programs shall be based on inmate evaluation and projected length of stay at the institution, with priority given to inmates with substance abuse issues.

Preserves existing protections ensuring inmate faith orientation is not considered in program admission and programs cannot attempt to convert inmates to particular religious preferences.

Requires faith-based dormitory programs to operate 24 hours daily as voluntary programs emphasizing personal responsibility, work, education, substance abuse treatment, and peer support.

Effective date: July 1, 2011.
