Expresses Florida's sympathy and solidarity with Japan following the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck northeastern Japan.

Recognizes Florida's strong economic relationship with Japan, including $4.16 billion in Japanese investment, 21,000 jobs in Florida, $781 million in exports, and $3.9 billion in imports.

Acknowledges cooperative defense and security agreements between the United States and Japan, including the Status of Forces Agreement and joint peacekeeping and humanitarian relief efforts.

Notes educational and cultural ties, including a 57 percent increase in American students studying in Japan and approximately 25,000 Japanese students in the United States.

Directs that copies of the resolution be presented to Japan's Ambassador to the United States and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
